The Christmas Season

School is done for 2008!!! Yahoo. I can now finally write in the blog.

This year has been crazy at school. I am teaching in a school where the state has had to come and restructure the school. In other words, we have so much paper work and people coming in and out of our rooms. It is just a lot of work and very stressful.

Now for family items. Riley is doing great in 2nd grade. He loves his teacher and his class. We have struggled with some reading issues, but we are finally making progress. He finished soccer in October and loved it. He is starting basketball this weekend. It is so cool to have kids in sports. Caitlyn is loving kindergarten. I have NOT received a call from the principal about her roughness, yet. She is starting to read (that may be spurring Riley on) and spell. She has lots of friends including a boy named Dean. Brodie is now attending the S.T.A.R. program at Manual (where I teach). I was worried that he might cry every day, but only when I come in unexpectedly. So, I just stay away and he does fine. His teacher says she cannot get him to stop talking, now. WOW!!

Robert and I are great. Robert's job is still very busy, but only one trip this year. I was the head volleyball coach of the high school team. That is what kept me very busy in the fall. I love my job, but it is very stressful and takes a lot of my time. Thanks to my wonderful husband for taking a lot of the burden this year. He is great.

Our family wishes you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. We love each of you and look forward to hearing from all of you this year.

School has begun...

Today was a HUGE day in the life of our family. First, Riley and Caitlyn rode the school bus to their first day of school. Riley has Miss Solerberger and loves her. He said "she is really fun". Caitlyn has Mrs. Schermerhorm and she loves her class. Then we took Brodie to his school. He was really unsure about today. He did cry today, but I walked away and very soon after I left he quit crying. He had a wonderful day and wants to go back tomorrow. I am so excited. They are the best children and please continue to pray about their school year. We love each of you.

School Starting Tomorrow

As I sit here with Robert, I cannot keep my mind from spinning. Tomorrow is a monumental day for the Windell family. We will start from the youngest. Brodie will start his pre-school career. On Friday, he went for a half day. He told the teacher that he did not want to give me a hug good-bye. Needless to say, I was in tears by the time I got to my car. Caitlyn starts kindergarten tomorrow. I am so proud of her. She is ready. Riley starts 2nd grade. He is the oldest in the school. He is going to have a great year. I am really excited for all of them. Tomorrow will be a wonderful day for the 3 greatest children in the world. Come back tomorrow for pictures of their first day. Love ya.

V.B.S.

Wow!! what a week. We just had a recording setting week at v.b.s. We had over 110 kids at the "PowerLab" Vacation Bible School. It was a wonderful experience to be a part of. Here is picture of the whole crew.

Thank you God for these wonderful blessings.

In Him,

Christian

Not my little boy anymore

10 days ago, I took the three kids to Splashdown (it's our local small water park). The kids love it and think that it is a vacation. So, off we went. Now, Riley and Caitlyn can swim so off they went right under that water and down the slides and around the big slide. Do you get that they are not afraid of the water? Though, I still got to hold on to Brodie. He still did not like getting his hair wet or water in his ears. So, he stood by me with a life jacket on, playing in about 18 inches of water. Yea!!! He is still my baby. Well....

He all of sudden learned that he was not scared of the water. It all happened two days ago on Friday. I again took the kids back to Splashdown for one last time. (I have to start work on August 1 so I can not take them again). He put on the life jacket just like normal, but then he wanted to go down the little slide, under the water, down the little slide, down the little slide and around on the lazy river... I could not believe it. He was a total different kid. SO, to make this story end, Brodie is not a baby anymore. He learned how to not be scared of the water and now we can not get him out of the water without a little crying. It is great that he is not scared, but he is not my baby baby anymore. He is growing up... (tear). Off to pre-school in a month (sniff). Okay I am done now.

Blog??

Since some of our friends are on this sight, I decided to give it a try. I am always looking for a way to tell our family and friends what is going on in our lives. So, let's see how this works. I will type way more as the week goes on.

Just for now, be praying for our Vacation Bible School that starts tomorrow, Monday. I am very exctied but we have already 100 kids coming which is at least 30 over our record. So, God is already blessing us.

Have a great week and come back soon.
